Winter Night
A faint whine trickled with her slow unnoticed breath. Eyes closed, she waited contemplating.
"Bryn" a booming voice muffled by the knitted scarf wrapped around his neck, keeping his red face marginally protected from the biting wind sweeping past.
Opening them quickly, Bryn turned her eyes to the face peaking up at her between rugged brown scarf and the puffy white trim of a red cap.
"oh. Clark, you're back." she said
They stayed still, the only movement her slight bobbing as she floating softly above the powdery snow collecting in droves along the concrete sidewalk.
Boots sinking beneath blankets of fluffy white snow, Bryn returned to the ground and stepped forward, reaching to hug Clark. He leaned forward, holding his arms up to not spill the two hot chocolates, steam swirling out into the cold dry air, mixing with the fluttering flakes as they floated idly.
Clumps of smoothed disturbed snow left a shallow trench of footprints cutting through the uniform fluff of white carpeting the entire world.
